About this Edition

The BIO International Convention 2026 took place at the San Diego Convention Center in California from 22 to 25 June. This prominent exhibition focused on advancements in biotechnology and was part of BIO’s series of hosted events, which included the BIO Clinical Trial Diversity Summit, the IP Counsels Committee Conference, the BIO Patient & Health Advocacy Summit, and the Partnering @JPM Week.

More than 19,600 trade visitors attended, eager to explore innovative solutions and engage with over 1,500 leading exhibitors from across the globe. The exhibiting brands represented over 65 countries, all 50 U.S. states, and Puerto Rico. Participants included global experts, senior managers, and biotech professionals, all looking to network and establish connections with key representatives from pharmaceutical companies, biotech start-ups, educational and research centres, and various non-profit organisations.

The supplementary programme of the BIO International Convention 2026 featured various activities aimed at enhancing participants’ knowledge and networking opportunities. Highlights included the Storytelling Stage, introduced in 2025, where expert sessions, workshops, and presentations covered essential therapeutic areas such as the future of digital health and next-generation biotherapeutics. Advances in infectious diseases and vaccines were also discussed.
