About this Edition
The Bologna Children's Book Fair 2025 took place from March 31 to April 3, 2025, at the Bologna Fiera in Italy. This premier event gathered over 1,500 companies and welcomed more than 31,000 professional visitors from the children's book publishing industry. During the event, attendees experienced a range of initiatives designed to facilitate networking and support for publishers, literary agents, authors, illustrators, and translators.
Throughout the show, the Rights Centre served as a hub for publishers and agents to connect, while the TV/Film Rights Centre encouraged collaborations on book-to-screen projects. The Illustrators Exhibition showcased emerging artistic trends and provided exposure for shortlisted artists. In addition, the Translators Café @BCBF2025 hosted workshops and panel discussions, tackling topics such as AI and its ethical implications in translation. Estonia was honored as the Guest of Honour Country at the fair.
