About this Edition
The European Respiratory Society (ERS) successfully hosted its annual international congress in 2022, returning to an in-person format in the vibrant city of Barcelona. The ERS International Congress 2022 took place from 3 – 7 September, marking a significant gathering for respiratory health professionals post the online adaptations necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the course of five days, the congress welcomed more than 20,000 respiratory experts who engaged in a comprehensive program featuring over 1,000 presentations, 1,500 posters, and 4,000 abstracts. These sessions covered a range of topics, including clinical and intensive respiratory care, epidemiology, environmental impacts on lung health, airway diseases, and respiratory infections. The attendees benefited from a mix of abstract and case-based sessions, lectures, and workshops.
Throughout the show, the ERS International Congress was noted for its outstanding scientific programme.
