About this Edition
The 25th world congress of IFSO, known as IFSO 2022, took place at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach from 23 to 27 August, celebrating its silver anniversary. This past event marked a significant milestone for the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders, which has been organizing annual congresses since its inception in 1996.
Dedicated professionals, including nurses, practitioners, dieticians, nutritionists, psychologists, internists, and anesthesiologists, gathered to share their expertise on the surgical treatment of obesity. They discussed new techniques, concepts, and the impact of obesity on the immune system, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.
Throughout the show, the congress program featured sessions in Spanish and Portuguese by IFSO LAC, as well as contributions from ASMBS with two tracks – WOF and WGO. Attendees benefited from a range of Post Graduate courses, Symposia, expert talks, discussion panels, and hands-on skill labs.
