About this Edition
From 23 to 26 October 2025, the global gaming community gathered in Essen, Germany, for the compelling edition of SPIEL 2025. The event, which took place at Messe Essen, expanded across six halls to accommodate a growing number of participants. With close to 1,000 companies exhibiting and over 200,000 attendees, the fair set the stage for a vibrant exchange between industry professionals and board game enthusiasts.
Throughout the show, SPIEL 2025 showcased a rich variety of gaming products, including over 1,500 new releases. Renowned publishers like Asmodee, Haba, and Czech Games Edition, alongside emerging talents, presented their latest creations in card, dice, tabletop roleplaying, and board games.
The event's programme focused on both entertainment and education. Activities such as Spiel Talks, Meet & Play sessions, the Golden Demon painting competition, and the Deutsche Spiele Preis (DSP) Awards enriched the experience. In addition, Educators Day offered presentations and panels in both German and English, emphasizing the educational value of gaming.
