About this Edition
The World Expo Osaka Kansai 2025, hosted in Osaka, Japan, was a pivotal event that spanned from 13th April to 13th October. This six-month-long exhibition brought together nations to address complex global challenges. The event took place on Yumeshima, a state-of-the-art artificial island, and focused on the theme 'Designing Future Society for Our Lives'.
During the event, more than 125 country representatives and 25 international organizations showcased their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The expo's unique 'People's Living Lab' concept was explored through subthemes: 'Saving Lives', 'Empowering Lives', and 'Connecting Lives'. These themes corresponded with various SDGs and highlighted innovations in Digital Society, AI, Robotics, IoT, and Big Data.
In addition, the World Expo 2025 provided a platform for participating countries to demonstrate their contributions towards the SDGs. Throughout the show, visitors had the opportunity to engage with future-adapted prototypes and achievements from around the globe.
